Stipends

Stipends

Medical professionals have worked hard to get their license. They have to put in many hours of time to maintain their status, to get updated education and to maintain their professionalism. The board of directors has therefore determined, that our agency honors the dedication offer a stipend to those dedicated volunteers.

Stipends are nominal payments – they are not wages and are not intended to replace income.

Currently:

Each scheduled standby event is compensated at $50, regardless of whether the volunteer is activated or provides patient care.

Total stipends are capped at $2,000 per calendar year per volunteer.

We recognize this is not a substantial amount of money. It is not designed to be. It is simply our way of saying “thank you” while remaining within the legal limits that protect volunteer status under applicable law.
